Journey to overcome floods with Central Vietnam

The residents in the Central region faced thirteen consecutive tropical storms, floods and landslides, in a natural disaster in October – November 2020. However, it is this difficult situation that clearly express the spirit of solidarity, love and “the good leaves protect the worn-out leaves” of the Vietnamese people. In the context of the whole country’s love towards the Central region, VMED Group called for internal resources (employees) to participate in the volunteer program “Overcoming the floods with the Central region”.
All the funds raised from the campaign ” Overcoming the floods with the Central region ” are directly sponsored for the project “Flood-resistant housing” of the Song Foundation. The flood-resistant housing is a community development project with the aim of building safe houses and developing sustainable livelihoods for the poor in areas affected by natural disasters & climate change. The project helps design, construction supervision and partly supports the house construction costs.
The campaign “Overcoming the floods with the Central region” received enthusiastic attention and support from all employees of VMED Group, the total amount contributed to the Connection Fund – Charity Fund is up to 100 million after nearly a week.

On 6 November 2020, the representative delegation of VMED Group presented a donation amount to support people in Central provinces damaged by natural disasters from the Connection Fund at the Song Foundation office.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Song Foundation: Ms. Nguyen Thi Linh Phung – In charge of External Relations and Fundraising and Ms. Tran Dao Minh Nhat – Human Resource Manager. During the program, the representative of the Song Foundation expressed the deep gratitude to all employees of VMED Group for their special and timely attention to the Flood-Resistant Housing project and expressed their respect to the good deeds of the VMED Group employees.
On the side of VMED Group, Ms. Tran Thi My Nhung – Director of Infection Control shared that: “The flood-resistant housing is a very meaningful project. It not only solves the difficult immediate problems but also directs people towards sustainable livelihood development. Contributing to this project, all employees of VMED Group wish to join hands to support the beloved Central region in the recovery and stability after the storm”.
“Overcoming floods with the Central region” is the opening activity in a series of charity projects of the Connection Fund to accompany and spread the good values “For a healthier and happier community”
