The “mobile” integrated operating room system at Thai Nguyen Central General Hospital

On 23 September, Thai Nguyen Central Hospital firstly performed online surgery to connect with bridge points. This event is included in the project “Remote medical examination and treatment” for 2020 – 2025 period by the Ministry of Health.
Prof. PhD. Dr. Nguyen Tan Phong – Department of Otorhinolaryngology; Hanoi Medical University directly performed the surgery at the Department of Anesthesia and Resuscitation and connected the online surgical images to the Center for Remote Examination and Treatment – Thai Nguyen Central General Hospital and 5 bridge points in the provinces and cities: A Thai Nguyen Hospital, Phu Luong District Medical Center; Bac Kan Provincial General Hospital, Cho Moi District Medical Center (Bac Kan), Lang Son Provincial General Hospital and Cao Loc District Medical Center (Lang Son).
Within 8 hours, the Infrastructure Sector – Vietmedical – member of VMED Group in co-operation with VMED Medical Solutions Department planned to survey the current situation, install and connect / integrate existing equipment in operating room G – Thai Nguyen Central General Hospital. The mobile integrated operating room system is urgently prepared for two surgeries for patients with laryngeal cancer in stages T1, T2 through endoscopy and tumor removal; Leading experts in otorhinolaryngology; Hanoi Medical University, Central Otorhinolaryngology Hospital transferred the online endoscopic surgery techniques to the local doctors.
The “mobile” integrated operating room system supported the surgical team to transmit the images of the surgery in real time to the bridge points. Image signals are arranged in many different frames to help doctors and lower level trainees easily observe and monitor throughout the surgery (signal sources are shown in the form of 4 frames / 2 frames). In addition, the “mobile” integrated operating room system allows storage of all information and images of endoscopy process for convenient retrieval after surgery.
The surgical monitors are integrated on the system to enhance the observation angles for the entire surgical team. The console on the nurse’s workstation is flexible and such surgical monitors are customized to display bridge points for easy two-way interaction (connected operating room <-> bridge points).
The “mobile” integrated operating room system installed by the Infrastructure Sector – Vietmedical – a member of VMED Group in cooperation with VMED Medical Solutions Department (supply of solutions of specialized remote medical examination and treatment)
